- We are located in the beautiful Susquehanna Valley in Central Pennsylvania, and we are anxious to travel and photograph your special event wherever it may be held.
Locally we travel to Gettysburg, State College, Philadelphia, Hershey, and the Pocono Mountains. Out of state we have photographed in New York City, Washington D.C.; Billings, Montana, and the Finger Lakes region of New York state. Out of the country we have photographed a wedding at a resort in tropical Jamaica.

About Our Staff
Mark P. Mallett
Owner and photographer, Mark P. Mallett is the current caretaker of the institution known as Schindler’s Studio.
Having purchased the studio in 1975 from brothers Edward and Walter Schindler, he has dedicated his career to keeping the studio equipped with cutting-edge technology while providing personal and professional attention to all clients. Having directed the studio through the digital revolution of the nineties and remodeling the physical premises at the 100th anniversary in 2008, the studio is well equipped and expertly staffed to carry through the second century. Mr. Mallett is a graduate of Bucknell University and a fifty-three year resident of Union County. Professionally, he is dedicated to being inclusive with regard to his client base. His expertise in lighting, posing, and printing makes his photography exceptional. He is knowledgeable in state-of-the-art techniques. Mr. Mallett is known for his photography and is often referred to as “Mr. Schindler” to many of his local customers. And with more than 46 years in the business and 58 years of photography expertise, he has taken on more of a managerial position at Schindler’s as he eases into retirement.

Colin P. Mallett
Colin Mallett, Mark’s son, is our long-time financial advisor and unofficial accountant. He is a graduate of Bloomsburg University. He assists in photography and other tasks here at the studio when needed. He is an outdoor enthusiast; enjoying kayaking, mini triathlons, camping, and exploring different countries and states with his wife and daughter. He has a fondness for Honda and F-1 Racing. He has become part owner in 2023.

Grace M. Benfer
Longtime staff artist, designer and photographer Grace Benfer is a graduate of the Advertising Art & Design program at the SUN Area Technical Institute and the Graphic Design baccalaureate program at Pennsylvania College of Technology. She also earned her Elementary Education certification from Susquehanna University. She enjoys breaks from album design and restoration work on the computer to do custom framing. Grace is now a Certified Picture Framer, receiving the CPF certification in 2023. She loves adding new, fresh products into our portrait sessions and product lists. In her free time Grace enjoys cooking & baking, sewing, hunting, anything outdoors and creating fine arts such as painting and pen & ink illustrating. As of 2023, Grace has also become part owner of Schindler’s Studio.

Belle & Laine
Anabelle and Alaina are Grace’s daughters and visit the studio frequently. Belle is a quiet reserved helper here at the studio while Laine is a feisty curious mini-Belle who is heard laughing with Mark most of the day. Both girls are active in soccer and ballet. We hope you get to meet this fun duo when you come to the studio.
