Collector’s Edition: Historic Postcards of Sunbury Book Release Event
Schindler’s Studio is gearing up for a special event at our Market Street location June 29th/30th. We’ll be here starting 9 a.m. Friday, but the actual event will start around 1 pm. Saturday the event will go from 9-3 with public figures and representatives coming and going throughout the day.
About the Project
One of our customers asked us to design a booklet featuring his postcard collection…not just any postcard collection…rare historical postcards from Sunbury. We have designed, printed and bound the 84 page booklet with over 160 scenes, buildings and events of Sunbury. We’ll host the two day event here at our studio. We are opening this event to anyone interested including a representative from each of the three benefactors of the book proceeds, Northumberland County Historical Society, Degenstein Community Library, and Sunbury Revitalization, the mayor, the Chamber of Commerce, as well as any Sunbury history buffs or local citizens also interested in the event. There will be refreshments and the books will be for sale ($30) as well. We will have large lighted display boxes featuring scenes from the booklet.
A Year to Celebrate!
This is also the Studio’s 110th anniversary of continuous operation. We are entering some new phases here worth mentioning…as well as the other services we still provide.
Focus on Local Businesses
This is a perfect opportunity to showcase other Sunbury events, items, businesses, etc. during the event. We are trying to partake in the Sandwich Stroll that Saturday with Sunbury Revitalization. We hope to have the recent “Patiently Waiting, Hometown Edition” print by Lerro III for sale or promotion during the event. We will have flower displays from the local florist, Something Special Flower Shop. We will have a local winemaker hosting a wine tasting on both days.
Open to All
We’d like to involve as many Sunbury or local businesses as possible to highlight the area’s local businesses since this book highlights all of the local area. We will have at least one representative from SRI on Saturday 9-10:45. We’d love to have you stop by for a peak at the book and all the printed images on display on the event days.
